We’re more than beads and floats — we give back, build lifelong friendships, and celebrate with heart. Whether it’s a bucket-list experience or a lifetime of fun, Agustina is for YOU.

What is a Krewe?

A Krewe (pronounced crew) is a social organization that charges yearly dues for membership. Dues are nonrefundable. 

What is the minimum age to be a member?

Membership minimum age is 21 years old.

What is the pricing for the memberships?

• Agustina: The current cost for a female to join as an Agustina is $500. This covers the application fee and membership fee. The annual membership dues renew after the first year for $275.

• Thorn: The current cost for a male or female to join as a Thorns is $300. This covers the application fee and membership fee. The annual membership dues renew after the first year for $250. Thorns are Auxiliary members and are not voting members. 

• Patrons: Patrons are associate members; the current cost for a female or male to join as a Patrons is $50 for the year. The Patron fee is applied to our Hillsborough County Education Fund. Patrons are not voting members and do not wear costumes.

What do I get with my membership? 

• Participation in all Krewe of Agustina sanctioned parades and all social events. Patrons will assist with the parades.

• Alcohol, water, and soda provided at all parades. Soda and Water ONLY for the Santa Fest and Childrens Gasparilla Parade 

• Food provided at parades

• Transportation to float staging area provided for the Gasparilla Childrens and Gasparilla Day Parade

• Admission to staging area pre-parade

• Member-only events throughout the year

• Camaraderie and Friendships to last your lifetime!

What does my membership dues go toward? 

• Insurance for General Liability and Directors/Officers

• Food and Beverages at the parades

• Float repairs, maintenance, storage, and towing
• Web site hosting and maintenance
• SunBiz and IRS requirements
• Charity donation and much more

Where do I get my Agustina or Thorn costume from?

Upon being accepted as a new Agustina or Thorn, you will be measured for your costume. The costume items will be purchased at the Krewe of Agustina shop.

What are “Throws”?

Throws are items such as beads, cups, doubloons, plush toys, and trinkets literally thrown from the float or walking members of the Krewe to the public who come out to enjoy the parade. The Krewe of Agustina shop has various types of beads and logo items that are available for your purchase. Throws are each member's responsibility.

Do I have to wear a costume to participate in the parades?

Yes. Our Agustina's and Thorns wear a specific costume that they will purchase upon joining. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase a Patrons shirt.

Can I bring my friends on the float with me?

No. Only Krewe Members, Thorns, Patrons, Security, and board-approved guests are allowed on the float.

Do you have to complete volunteer hours?

All Members, except for associate members, are required to volunteer a minimum of eight (8) hours for Krewe sponsored volunteer activities each year.
